Manufacturing Process
ASTM A53 LSAW Steel Pipe (Double Side Submerged Arc Welding LSAW Steel Pipe)
Process Principle:
Double Side Submerged Arc Welding LSAW Steel Pipe is a type of steel pipe that utilizes an automated welding method. This welding method uses a wire as the welding material and ignites an arc covered with a meltable granular flux. The wire, base material and part of the flux melt and evaporate under the action of the arc, forming a cavity in which the arc burns steadily.
Advantages:
High degree of automation, strong heat exchange and protection, high welding quality.
High current can be used, high welding efficiency.
Application areas:
Commonly used in oil and natural gas transmission pipelines, as well as in engineering projects that require a large number of welding operations.
ASTM A53 seamless steel pipe
Hot rolled seamless steel pipe:
Process: Pipe billet → heating → piercing → three-roll slant rolling, continuous rolling → stripping → sizing → cooling → straightening → hydrostatic test → marking → storage.
Characteristics: delivery in hot-rolled state or heat-treated state, relatively simple production process, lower cost.
Cold-drawn seamless steel pipe:
Process: billet→heating→piercing→heading→annealing→acid washing→oil coating→multiple cold drawing→billet→heat treatment→straightening→hydraulic test→marking→warehousing.
Characteristics: Cold drawing process is relatively cumbersome, but can get higher quality products. Uniform wall thickness and good surface roughness.
Chemical Composition and Mechanical Properties (ASTM A53 Grade B for example):
Chemical composition: including carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and other elements, the content of which have clear standard limits.
Mechanical properties: with tensile strength ≥415MPa, yield strength ≥240MPa, with good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
Application field:
ASTM A53 seamless steel pipe is heavily used in the construction field for underground pipe transportation, boiler hot water transportation and so on.
It is also widely used in the transportation of fluids, such as oil, natural gas, gas, water and so on.
In addition, it is also commonly used in the fields of machining, electrical and wind power generation.
